Camino, Day 2: Roscenvalles to Larrasoaña (27,7 km)

The lights at the Refugio came up @ 6am and every-one (well nearly every one) began they daily chores of packing, putting back the sleeping bags etc, cacophony of different sounds and languages. My last nights washings were nearly dry (just because I took them in last night), outdoor was not to welcoming rain. It was especially bad because today we'll be descending most of the day to Larrasoaña and it may be very dangerous on a slippery, muddy pilgrims trail. Some pilgrims already left at dawn, I'm not intending to, I want to see my way through.
So we went out for a sturdy walk through the woods. A road sign said:

- Santiago De Compostela 790km

We kinda flew through the first town on the way aiming towards the second one hoping that what the guide told us about presence of a Cafe place was true. We wanted to stop for breakfast. We arrived in Espinal and found a tiny, cute Cafe 'Ederre da Taberna' where we meet Mick and a girl from Cork. I got there my perfect espresso and Tortija (freshly baked roll with a omelette like filling).
The first part of the walk was outstanding, cooling air with a little bit of a drizzle. The paths were leading us through a beautiful tunnels of oakwood and bux. The view changes every time we emerged from those tunnels.
At the local shop I bought some nuts, risings and fruit. So during my walk I'll be spoiling myself with those little treats.
Wondering our way down to the next albergue we found Plum Trees (wild) and enjoyed the fruits, big smelly goats in the fenced area with which Tom spend a lot if time simply rubbing its heads what later on made his hand smell so bad that he couldn't wash it off.
The three German girls we've met yesterday came about, Hanna, Jana & Lisa and as we were playing with the goats the girls went down to Larrasoaña and got last three places in the Albergue. So two pilgrims places were full 52 & 40 places.
We wondered around town and found a place to sleep in 'Pension de Peregrino' and about 15 minutes later our Belgian friend Tonia & Cathherine arrived too.
We booked the Pilgrims meal for 7:30 and went there for a beer.
It was a beautiful day!
The pilgrim meal was wonderful and after it we stayed behind and chatted having couple of glasses of local wine and a bit stronger stuff...using which I was exchanging 'Brudershchaft' with the German girls.

God bless the Pilgrims
