Camino, Day 25 - an Epic adventure...
Truth to be told, this post simply shouldn´t appear here because I can´t write about the experiences of the 25th day... How?
Anyway a few words, on the morning of the 25th day of my Camino decided to take the road less travelled known as Camino Dragonte. It´s the hardest route of the day, and nearly no pilgrims goes this way.
Starts in Villafranca del Bierzo and goes through Dragonte to Herrenias (28,5 km on the map, without counting the ups and downs, and it goes through three high hills and three valleys).
And now, how can you describe the breathtaking landscapes and unspoild views? How can you picture a feeling of being completly lost on a muddy fiels with spots of cow shite? How can you express the feelings of happins when after an hour of walking some strange road finally first yellow arrow (sign of the route) appears on the tree? How can you describe the smell of mint that sticks to you when you walk the fields? The smell of pine? The taste of blackberries larger than an euro coin and sweeter than anyone you ever tasted, and in such a abundance that you want to just stay there and eat? How can you picture a group of three people walking along the road, completly lost and yet being happy? And eventually how can you explain that a cold, freezing house given as a shelter for the night feels more comfortable than your own bed?
It´s all so simple...
It´s all so beautifull, and so far this was the greatest experience of my Camino...
God bless you all
God speed, Buen Camino!
