Camino, Day 6: Estella to Sansol (26.3 km)
We left Estrella quite early, around 7:15 in the morning and immediately took off. The morning time was full of joy and very easy to walk On the way we've stopped in Ayegui where we could get a Cert of the first 100 km done on the Camino, but unfortunatelly we didn't get it, the person who is handling the Certs wasn't there.
We took our road via Puenta de Vino and had a bit of wine for the beginning of the day.
Beautiful...
After that we choose an option to walk more alienated and less travelled path through wonderfull oak & pine woods and lavender fields.
Stopped in Liquin for food and found out closed Cafe. The owner came and opened it for us and I got a nickname Tinto because I asked for a Cafe 'Tinto' thinking that'd be a small, short espresso but truly it meant red in relation to the wine. So I got my coffee and to my surprise a glass of red wine ... as well.
Afer that we joined the usual Camino track and walked 10 km through a beautiful scenario of vineyards, old ruined houses, olive orchards and forest hills.
Arrived in Los Arcos and decided to soldier on. Had a little break for yet another coffee (not tinto) and went on, this time to Sansol.
After about 2 hours we arrived nicely to Sansol, it was already 5 pm so we decided to stop there. Had a shower, relaxed and decided to look for food. The Albergue seemed nice and the owner seemed friendly, he proposed he'd book us a meal @ the nearest bar. We agreed and came to the place @ 8pm.
They served salads and chicken hamburgers or cheese sandwiches. Overall it wasn't a pilgrims meal as such and it was far too expensive. I'd rather recommend to walk extra 1km to Torres del Rio because as we found out later there are three great Albergues.
Everything hovewer must be taken in as a blessing.
Food, shelter...
